Emphasising the need for self-esteem and confidence among students, renowned educationist and CEO of the Academy for Creative Teaching, Dr. Gururaj Karajagi, said students should grow up believing in their own abilities. He was delivering the inaugural address at the two-day induction programme for newly admitted postgraduate students of the Central University of Kerala (CUK) for the 2025-26 academic year.
Dr. Karajagi pointed out that the goal of education is not merely to secure high marks or land jobs. “Many who excel academically fail in life. It is self-esteem and confidence that enable one to overcome challenges and succeed,” he said.
CUK Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur presided over the function and assured students of the university’s full support for their academic and personal growth. “There are abundant opportunities here. Make the best use of them and move ahead with a sense of responsibility,” he said.
Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta delivered the welcome address. Registrar Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar proposed the vote of thanks. Controller of Examinations Dr. R. Jayaprakash, Dean Academic Prof. Amruth G. Kumar, other deans, heads of departments, faculty members, and students were present.
