A ten-day Research Methodology course, organised by the Department of Education and sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), began at the Central University of Kerala (CUK). The programme was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur at the university’s Periya campus.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Algur emphasised the importance of interdisciplinary research, stating that the focus must be on multidisciplinary collaboration and the adoption of an interdisciplinary approach. “Research should not be confined within the boundaries of a single department. Collaboration across disciplines is essential to make research truly impactful. After all, research is not merely about obtaining a degree, it should lead to outcomes that are meaningful and beneficial to the community,” he said. “Today’s generation is fortunate to pursue research in an era of advanced technology. Unlike the challenges faced by earlier scholars, you have resources at your fingertips. However, the key challenge now lies in using this technology in the rightful manner,” he added.
The event was presided over by Dean Academic Prof. Amruth G. Kumar. Speakers included Director of Research Prof. Vincent Mathew, Head of the Department of Education Prof. V.P. Joshith, Prof. Mohamedunni Elias Musthafa, and Course Director Dr. Geetha C.A. The workshop, attended by research scholars from various states, will conclude on July 11.
