The Central University of Kerala (CUK) bid farewell to Registrar, Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar, who retired after eight years of distinguished service. A farewell function was held at the Nilgiri Guest House, which was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddu P. Algur. Prof. Algur, in his address, described Dr. Nambiar as a humane and committed administrator, noting that even their brief period of collaboration was meaningful and rewarding.
Several senior faculty members and officials, including Controller of Examinations Dr. R. Jayaprakash, Dean Academic Prof. Amruth G. Kumar, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta, Prof. Vincent Mathew, and Hindi Officer T.K. Anish Kumar, spoke on the occasion. Dr. Nambiar, accompanied by his wife Dr. P.K. Mini, delivered a brief reply speech expressing his gratitude. Deans, heads of departments, and administrative staff attended the event.
A native of Nileswaram, Dr. Nambiar joined CUK as Controller of Examinations on July 5, 2017, and took charge as the university’s fifth Registrar on July 6, 2022. During his tenure, he played a key role in strengthening the academic and administrative systems of the university. As Controller, he implemented reforms for transparency and efficiency in examination processes and oversaw five convocation ceremonies. As Registrar, he led major infrastructure projects including new administrative and library buildings, hostels and faculty quarters. He also addressed staff shortages through recruitment initiatives and briefly held additional charge as Pro Vice-Chancellor and Finance Officer.
