Eligibility for Admission

Admission to the MA/MSc programmes is subject to the applicants’ fulfilling eligibility conditions as notified in the university web site www.cukerala.ac.in. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria as notified by the Central University of Kerala.

Eligible candidates must:
  • have completed undergraduate programme under 10+2+3 pattern from a recognized university or a foreign university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
  • have an equivalent degree with not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade in the subject concerned for admission to PG programme in science, and an equivalent degree with not less than 50% or equivalent grade in the subject concerned for admission to PG programme in Humanities. (Relaxation up to 5% marks is granted to SC/ST candidates in the eligibility for admission.)
  • be between 20-25 years on the date of admission.
Reservation

In each Department, 15%, 7.5% and 27% of seats are reserved for SC, ST and OBC respectively. For details, please visit National Commission for Backward Classes website, www.ncbc.nic.in . According to Govt. of India norms, 3% of the seats are reserved for differently abled persons. Those appearing for the qualifying examination can also apply. If they qualify in the test for admission, and the interview that follows, they will be provisionally admitted. However, their admission will be confirmed only if they have the minimum eligibility and have produced their qualifying certificate / mark list / grade card before 1 September 2011, failing which they lose the admission.
