The evaluation of a course involves – (a) Continuous Assessment (CA) and (b) End Semester Assessment (ESA). CA is based on specific components such as class tests/sessional examinations, seminars, assignments/quiz and carries 40% weightage. ESA carries 60% weightage. For laboratory courses, CA carries 75% weightage and ESA carries 25% weightage.

The overall academic performance of a student will be indicated in Grades. Grades will be awarded to each student based on the aggregate of CA and ESA, and relative to the total marks scored by other students and class average. No student who has secured less than 40% for the ESA will be awarded a pass grade.

Grading: The following table includes point value of the grades in the ten point scale grading system.

No student who has obtained less than 75% attendance in a Course will be eligible to appear for the end semester examination.

On successful completion of a course the student earns the credits and on acquiring the minimum prescribed credits within the minimum prescribed period, the student will be eligible to receive the degree.

The overall academic performance of the student will be determined by a grading system and will be indicated by the Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) in the final grade card issued by the University.
